Three ways to check your balance
Any of these will give you the current balance:
- Online — go to the gift card page on ihop.com and enter the card number and PIN for an instant balance.
- By phone — call the gift card line on 855-316-7063 and follow the prompts.
- In person — hand the card to a server or host at any IHOP and ask them to check it.
Buying a gift card
Digital gift cards are the fastest option. Buy on ihop.com, enter the recipient's email address, and the card is delivered straight to their inbox — useful when you have left a present to the last minute. Physical cards are also sold on ihop.com; orders process and ship the next business day, with delivery options from standard post through to overnight. Orders under $200 can be shipped to any US address.
Where gift cards can be used
IHOP gift cards are redeemable in restaurants, on ihop.com and through the IHOP mobile app. That covers dine-in and carryout at the 978 US restaurants in our directory. They generally cannot be used on third-party delivery platforms such as DoorDash or Uber Eats, because those orders are processed by the platform rather than by IHOP.
Using a gift card alongside rewards and discounts
A gift card is a payment method, not a discount, so it stacks with most offers rather than replacing them. You can pay with a gift card on a bill that already has a MyHOP Rewards offer applied, or on a 55+ senior menu order, or during IHOPPY Hour. If the card does not cover the full bill, the remainder goes on another payment method — staff can split it at the terminal. Tips are usually charged to the card you tip on rather than the gift card balance, so check the receipt if the balance matters.
If you have lost the card or the PIN
The balance lookup needs both the card number and the PIN, so a card with a scratched or damaged PIN panel cannot be checked online. In that case call 855-316-7063 or take the card into a restaurant, where staff can look it up on the terminal. Keep the receipt from the original purchase if you have it, as it helps with any dispute.
